Overview

When handling chips of aluminium, cast iron, brass and steel, the fines tend to float with the coolant and are difficult to filter. The rotary drum conveyor gives excellent results in exactly this situation.

It is essentially a scraper conveyor equipped with a stainless steel drum, continuously driven by the conveyor chain itself. Fine chips are retained on the drum periphery and are back-washed with nozzles fed by a pump discharge, which clears the clogged chips as the drum rotates. The clean liquid flows into the clean tank area.

Because expensive filter media are avoided entirely, there are no consumables. A filtering accuracy of 100 to 500 microns is achieved. The effective filtration significantly reduces the frequency of cleaning tanks and machine downtime. Combined with slat type conveyors and multiple drums for higher flow rates, it gives a wide choice of application.
