In modern machine shops it is becoming extremely popular and essential to install centralized coolant and chip handling systems, which eliminate individual conveyors and coolant tanks and reduce both space and maintenance substantially.
The conveyors are installed under the ground, leaving the floor area free for movement and keeping the shop free from chip and coolant spillage. The systems also prove economical because maintenance and the number of pumps required are reduced.
Every system is custom designed to handle the specific chip type, quantity and flow rates. A combination of scraper, slat and rotary drum conveyors with magnetic filters or bag filters and a chip centrifuge makes these systems very effective and reliable.
